One of the major advantages of mini dental implants is that they typically do not require a bone graft. In approximately 90% of cases, a mini implant can be securely placed in areas of the bone where a conventional implant would otherwise necessitate a graft.
With a conventional implant, the process often involves a bone graft, followed by implant placement, and then a waiting period of up to nine months to allow for healing before restoring the tooth with a crown or bridge. In contrast, mini implants streamline the process significantly. They can be placed and immediately used to support a denture, crown, or bridge, often in a single visit.
This procedure is typically completed in about an hour, allowing patients to leave the office with a functional restoration the same day. The immediacy, convenience, and reduced need for invasive procedures make mini implants an excellent choice for many patients.
