One of the significant advantages of mini dental implants is that, in many cases, we don’t need to make a large incision. This means we can often avoid opening the gums to expose the bone, which eliminates the need for extensive sutures and reduces discomfort. Instead, we can place the mini implant directly into the gum and bone with minimal disruption.

This simplified procedure makes the surgery much easier and more comfortable for patients. In fact, many report feeling surprised at how quick and painless the process was, often recovering within a day.

In contrast, conventional implants require a more invasive approach. A small hole, called an osteotomy, must be drilled into the bone to secure the implant. This process typically involves a healing period of one to two weeks, followed by several months to allow the bone to grow and integrate with the implant for stability.

With mini implants, the implant adheres to the bone immediately, much like placing a screw into wood. This allows for faster results and less waiting time compared to traditional implants, which require approximately four months for the bone to integrate fully. This streamlined process makes mini implants a convenient and efficient solution for many patients.
