What to Expect During the Dental Bridge Process

In this video, Dr. Ruedi Tillmann explains the steps involved in getting a dental bridge and how it restores missing teeth. Contact our Kaysville office for a free consultation to explore your options, whether you’re in Ogden or Greater Salt Lake City.

Let’s discuss the process of placing an implant-supported bridge. This is an effective solution for replacing multiple missing teeth, and there are a couple of approaches to achieve it.

With conventional implants, two implants are typically placed to support the bridge. However, this process requires a waiting period of four to six months to allow the implants to integrate with the bone before the bridge can be permanently placed.

The advantage of mini-implants is their efficiency. In most cases, the implants can be placed, and within one to two weeks, you can receive a permanent bridge that is securely cemented onto the implants. This provides immediate function and comfort. With proper care, such as regular flossing and the use of proxy brushes, these bridges can last for years.

Implant-supported bridges are a highly recommended option for restoring chewing ability and functionality, particularly in the molar area. Patients often find this solution both effective and satisfying, allowing them to eat and smile confidently again.
