Which Denture Options Are Right For You?

In this video, Dr. Ruedi Tillmann explains the denture options provided at our practice, and how we determine which option might be best suited for your needs and goals. Serving Kaysville and Greater Salt Lake City, UT, we invite you to schedule a free consultation to learn more about the denture options we provide.

There are several options available for dentures, each tailored to meet individual needs. Ideally, we aim to preserve your natural teeth, as dentures are often a last resort. However, with over 40 million Americans using dentures, they are sometimes unavoidable. Many patients come to us with loose-fitting dentures, struggling to keep them secure and functional.

During your visit, we will conduct a thorough examination to determine whether you have sufficient bone to support implants for a more stable denture. One effective solution for upper dentures involves placing six mini implants with locks that allow the denture to snap securely into place. This design eliminates the need for excessive adhesive and allows for a more comfortable fit by removing the palate portion of the denture. This not only improves taste and speech but also prevents food from getting trapped underneath, a common issue with traditional dentures.

For those seeking an even more stable and natural-looking option, we offer implant-supported roundhouses, also known as bridges. These consist of a series of crowns—typically 8 to 10—secured together and supported by mini implants. There are two types of roundhouses: removable and fixed.

1. Removable Roundhouse
– This type can be snapped in and out, making it easy to clean.
– Maintenance involves daily cleaning and replacing the small retention rings about every six months.
– The design eliminates the need for a palate, offering greater comfort and an esthetically pleasing appearance.

2. Fixed Roundhouse (Monos)
– These are permanently cemented onto the implants, offering maximum stability and a completely natural feel.
– They are designed to remain in place indefinitely, only being removed by a dentist for maintenance or in case of issues.
– This is the most advanced option, providing the highest level of function and aesthetics.

Both options restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile with confidence, with no one ever knowing you are wearing dentures. To explore these solutions further, we invite you to schedule a free consultation. Let us help you find the perfect denture solution to meet your needs and improve your quality of life.
